Parenting & Adoption Program Development

At Multi Cultural Queer+ Association, we are actively developing a parenting and adoption support program designed to uplift LGBTQ+, immigrant, and families of color as they build strong, affirming, and resilient homes.

We recognize that parenting and adoption within our communities can come with unique challenges navigating identity, cultural expectations, legal systems, and access to inclusive, affirming resources. Our goal is to create a program that responds directly to these realities.

This initiative is currently in development, and our plan is to build a culturally responsive, community-informed program that centers the experiences of Latino, Hispanic, Black, and immigrant LGBTQ+ families on the East Side of Cleveland.

As we grow this program, we are working toward offering:

  • Affirming parenting workshops focused on identity, acceptance, and family dynamics

  • Adoption guidance and support, including navigating systems, resources, and advocacy

  • Safe spaces for youth, parents, and caregivers to connect, share, and heal

  • Access to culturally competent services, including mental health and family support

  • Community events that celebrate and strengthen diverse families

We are actively engaging community members, families, and partners in shaping this program to ensure it reflects real needs and creates meaningful, lasting impact.

This is just the beginning our vision is to build a supportive network where families, including adoptive families, feel seen, supported, and empowered at every stage of their journey.
