Our Story

MQA+ was founded in 2024 by Luis Cruz and T’Relle Smith with a simple but powerful belief: community changes everything.

We saw a need for safe, welcoming spaces where LGBTQ+ individuals — especially Latinx, immigrant, BIPOC, and trans community members — could find support, opportunity, and belonging. What started as a vision between two community members has grown into a movement rooted in culture, care, and collective action.

We are more than a nonprofit.
We are a community. And we’re just getting started.
